Kelly Kettle is a wood burning outdoor kettle, Ideal for Emergency Preparedness e.g. during power cuts (use it outdoors). You can power this remarkable kettle with any combustible material such as twigs, newspapers, leaves, wood pellets or even dry grass. Of course, you can use conventional fuels such as solid fuel tablets or alcohol/spirit burners as well.
The Kelly Kettle will boil water in 6 to 8 minutes depending on the fuel you're using. This Base Camp model is made from Aluminum, it is essentially a double-walled chimney with the water contained in the chimney wall. Once the kettle is filled with water, simply start a very small fire in the base, set the kettle on the base and drop additional fuel (twigs, leaves, grass, paper, etc.) down the chimney. The large internal surface area of the chimney heats the water very quickly. When the water boils, hold the handle at an angle of 90° to the Kettle - then lift the Kettle clear of the base. To pour, lift it by the handle and tilt it using the whistle chain. This kettle is rapid, safe and sure. Boils water easily in the windiest and wettest weather without the need for gas or artificial fuel.
